What we do

We solve one specific problem: UK businesses considering a solar PPA are under-informed about the commercial mechanics. PPA providers have a structural incentive to optimise for their own tariff economics; off-takers sign contracts they don't fully understand and later discover unfavourable terms on escalators, end-of-contract options or off-taker covenant requirements.

SPPA is an independent layer between off-takers and providers: we explain the mechanics, set realistic tariff expectations, and introduce qualified off-takers to vetted PPA providers. We're paid a flat referral fee on completed deals — disclosed in writing before any introduction.

Our editorial policy

We never accept payment for editorial coverage. The PPA provider shortlists we use are based on:

• Public track record (Companies House filings, audited accounts, signed deals)
• Financial backing (named LPs, debt structure, parent guarantees)
• EPC contractor quality (MCS, NICEIC accreditations)
• O&M operational scale
• Client references on comparable deals

Off-takers we introduce are told upfront which providers are in the shortlist and what referral fee structure applies. No hidden commissions. No installer agenda.

Who we work with

Our typical clients are UK commercial off-takers in the £100k–£10m annual electricity spend bracket: manufacturers, logistics operators, hotel groups, MAT schools, NHS Trusts, councils, retail chains and farms. System sizes 50kWp to 5MWp.

Who we don't work with

• Sites under 50kWp — economics generally don't work
• Sites with under 10 years of remaining tenure
• Pre-revenue companies without parental guarantee
• Sites where we can't get a reasonable PPA tariff from at least one of our network providers
